Course Syllabus – Technology Systems 

Technology is involved in practically all aspects of our daily lives.  To function in our world and make the daily decisions required of us, students need a foundation for understanding issues involving technology.

In the study of Technology Systems, students will gain knowledge and skills in the application, design, production and assessment of products, services and systems.  To prepare students for success in the modern world, students will acquire knowledge and skills in the proper application of technology, the design of technology, the efficient production of technology and the assessment of the effects of technology on local and global communities.  The study of technology in this course allows students to reinforce, apply and transfer their academic knowledge and skills to a variety of interesting and relevant activities, problems and settings.  Students also gain an understanding of career opportunities available in technology and what employers require to gain and maintain employment in a variety of careers.

Grading

25% - Daily work and class participation

55% - Exams and Quizzes

20% - Final Exam

Note that exams are very important to the grade earned in this course.  Regular attendance and timely completion of daily assignments will prepare students for success on exams.

Students can arrange with the teacher to come before or after school (or during lunch, if time permits) to make up exams.
