BOOK: ROOM: 18
.CLASS OVERVIEW
During this coarse you will learn
what investigations are used to learn
about the natural world through questioning, observing and drawing
conclusions. Students should understand that certain types of questions
can be answered by investigations, and that conclusions and models built
from these investigations change as new observations are made. Models of
objects and events are tools for understanding the natural world and can
show how systems work. They have limitations and based on new
discoveries are constantly being changed to more closely reflect the
physical world.
Materials:
Tests
You will have 7 test during the school year, one
for each section. All tests will be done during the class period. Any
test that is not completed may have arrangements made to finish after
school. You are not to leave the room with a test. If this is
discovered then all test will be trashed and a new one will be
administered.

school year. The same rules apply for late assignments for late
projects. Projects will consist of you doing Research out side of
school. Example: You may have to use the Internet or go to the library.

inform me immediately. Do not wait till the assignment is over.
Daily Work and
Quizzes.
Daily work is to be turned in by the end of the
class period. A quiz will be given at the beginning of each class
period to assess what you learned the day before. Not all quizzes will
be taken up for a grade. That will be selected at random. You cannot
make up a quiz.
Extra Credit
For extra credit you may bring in a science related
newspaper article and present it to the class. Along with that you will
also have to write a one-page paper summarizing the article and what you
found interesting about the article to be turned. This will count as 1
